I moved to the Wood River Valley in 2006, where Idaho quickly became home. Living here has allowed me to enjoy backcountry skiing, rock climbing, mountain biking, and rafting—but my greatest life title is Mom. I have two wonderful children, Hudson and Skadi Mae, who are truly my Idaho gems. I can’t imagine life without them. Becoming a parent has made me a better educator. It has deepened my understanding of learning, empathy, and the importance of being seen and valued. My teaching philosophy is best expressed by E.E. Cummings: “We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit".” My goal as an educator—and as a parent—is to be someone who lifts the veil for others, helping students discover their own worth, curiosity, and joy in learning.

Me mudé al valle de Wood River en 2006, un lugar donde Idaho se convirtió rápidamente en mi hogar. Vivir aquí me ha permitido disfrutar del esquí de travesía, la escalada en roca, el ciclismo de montaña y el *rafting*; sin embargo, mi título más importante en la vida es el de madre. Tengo dos hijos maravillosos, Hudson y Skadi Mae, quienes son verdaderamente mis joyas de Idaho. No puedo imaginar la vida sin ellos. Convertirme en madre me ha hecho una mejor educadora; ha profundizado mi comprensión sobre el aprendizaje, la empatía y la importancia de sentirse visto y valorado. Mi objetivo como educadora —y como madre— es ser esa persona que levanta el velo ante los demás, ayudando a mis alumnos a descubrir su propio valor, su curiosidad y la alegría de aprender.

I came to the Wood River Valley in 2006. This area quickly became home as our family loves the outdoors and all the many things this valley has to offer. I have been teaching for over 18 years. I really enjoy learning from and teaching students. It is amazing all the great things you can learn from children and others if you open your eyes, heart and mind to the experience. Math has always been my favorite subject. I am excited to share my love of Math with students. Making our Math Brains explode from all the great things we will be doing in class! Looking forward to a great year!

Llegué al Valle de Wood River en 2006. Esta zona se convirtió rápidamente en nuestro hogar, ya que a nuestra familia le encanta la vida al aire libre y todas las maravillosas cosas que este valle tiene para ofrecer. Llevo más de 18 años dedicándome a la enseñanza. Disfruto muchísimo aprendiendo de mis alumnos y enseñándoles. Es asombroso todo lo grandioso que se puede aprender de los niños —y de los demás— si uno abre los ojos, el corazón y la mente a la experiencia. Las matemáticas siempre han sido mi asignatura favorita. Me entusiasma poder compartir mi pasión por las matemáticas con mis alumnos. ¡Haremos que nuestros cerebros matemáticos estallen de emoción con todas las cosas fantásticas que realizaremos en clase! ¡Espero con ilusión que tengamos un año estupendo!
