¡Me encanta enseñar Estudios Sociales en español!  Me encanta el hecho de enseñar sobre el hemisferio Occidental que incluye México, de donde son mis raíces.  Mis papás son de San Luis Potosí, México y yo nací en Jerome, pero me crie en Rupert.  Gradué de Minico High School, a la cual regrese como maestra de Inglés por cuatro años.  Al inicio de mis estudios, estudie en CSI y me gradué de la Universidad de Boise con licenciatura en Educación Bilingüe.  Después obtuve mi Maestría en Educación Bilingüe y decidí mudarme a Hailey con mi esposo Floyd Padilla.  Hemos vivido aquí desde 2008 disfrutando de la naturaleza y todo lo que ofrece este hermoso valle.  ¡Más que nada, me alegra enseñar 6to y 7o grado en mi idioma natal y en este maravilloso distrito escolar! 

I love teaching Social Studies! I love the fact that I get to teach about the Western Hemisphere, which includes Mexico, where my roots are from. My parents are from San Luis Potosí, Mexico, and I was born in Jerome, but raised in Rupert. I graduated from Minico High School, where I actually went back as an English as a Second Language teacher and taught for four years. Initially, I went to CSI and graduated from Boise State University with a degree in Bilingual Education. I then got my Master's in Bilingual Education and decided to make the move to Hailey. My husband Floyd Padilla and I have been happily living here since 2008, enjoying nature and everything this great valley has to offer. I feel happy to teach 6th-grade Social Studies in Spanish in this great district!

I was born in Middletown, New York, and grew up in Boise. I lived in the Wood River Valley from 2012 to 2016. I later lived in Guadalajara, Mexico, where I participated in a study abroad program that ultimately led to earning my bachelor’s degree in Spanish. During that same period, I completed a Master of Education in Bilingual Education and worked as an ENL paraprofessional at Wood River High School. I went on to live abroad for several years, including three years in Santiago, Chile, and one year in Cusco, Peru, for a total of five years living overseas. While in South America, I taught English for a Chilean educational company, which led me to establish my own LLC focused on teaching English as a foreign language. During this time, I also had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Central and South America. These experiences included canyoneering in Matacanes Canyon in Mexico, backpacking in Patagonia in Chile and Argentina, and exploring Machu Picchu and other mountainous regions in Peru.

In 2023, I returned to the Wood River Valley to teach Dual Immersion Social Studies at Wood River Middle School. I am deeply passionate about education, cultural immersion, language learning, and working with students and families. Outside of teaching, I enjoy outdoor recreation, reading, and spending time with family and friends. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow alongside the students, families, and staff of Wood River Middle School.

Nací en Middletown, Nueva York, y crecí en Boise. Viví en el Wood River Valley desde 2012 hasta 2016. Posteriormente viví en Guadalajara, México, donde participé en un programa de estudios en el extranjero que finalmente me permitió obtener mi licenciatura en Español. Durante ese mismo período, completé una Maestría en Educación con especialización en Educación Bilingüe y trabajé como paraprofesional de ENL en Wood River High School. Más adelante, viví en el extranjero durante varios años, incluyendo tres años en Santiago de Chile y un año en Cusco, Perú, para un total de cinco años viviendo fuera del país. Mientras estuve en Sudamérica, enseñé inglés para una empresa educativa chilena, lo que me llevó a fundar mi propia empresa (LLC) dedicada a la enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera. Durante este tiempo, también tuve la oportunidad de viajar extensamente por Centro y Sudamérica. Estas experiencias incluyeron barranquismo en el Cañón de Matacanes en México, mochilear por la Patagonia en Chile y Argentina, y explorar Machu Picchu y otras regiones montañosas del Perú.

En 2023, regresé al Wood River Valley para enseñar Estudios Sociales de Inmersión Dual en Wood River Middle School. Tengo una profunda pasión por la educación, la inmersión cultural, el aprendizaje de idiomas y el trabajo con estudiantes y familias. Fuera del aula, disfruto de las actividades al aire libre, la lectura y pasar tiempo con mi familia y amigos. Estoy agradecida por la oportunidad de aprender y crecer junto a los estudiantes, las familias y el personal de Wood River Middle School.

Hi there! Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, I moved to Blaine County with my wife Kristi in 2004. I have been working here at the Middle School since then as an ESL teacher and a Dual Immersion Humanities teacher. I have been teaching for almost 30 years, having taught in Los Angeles for 12 years as well, mostly middle school. I have a BA from UC Berkeley in history and an MA from UCLA in History. It has been a wonderful experience teaching at WRMS. Having taught in a big urban district for so many years, I so appreciate all the opportunities we teachers have here in working with our young people!

¡Hola! Nacido y criado en Los Ángeles, California, me mudé al condado de Blaine con mi esposa Kristi en 2004. He estado trabajando aquí en la escuela secundaria desde entonces como maestro de ESL y maestro de Humanidades de doble inmersión. He estado enseñando  casi 30 años, habiendo enseñado en Los Ángeles también  12 años, principalmente en la escuela secundaria.
