I've been passionate about being a teacher since the year 2000. I taught Spanish and English as a New Language at WRHS from 2008-2014, and at the start of the 2014-2015 school year moved to Alturas Elementary to focus on language acquisition in our dual immersion setting. In 2022, I moved to Wood River Middle School to teach language learners and coach girls' basketball. I have a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administrative credentials from Northern Colorado University, and at the University of Oregon, I received a B.A. in Japanese, and a minor in Spanish while playing on the Ducks' basketball team.
I'm married to WRHS basketball coach Kevin Stilling & we have two amazing daughters, Tobie and Camrynn, who attend school in our lovely valley. I love to do outdoor activities, stay in shape, and travel to experience new cultures. I am so excited to be at WRMS!

Hello! I specialize in helping students build the academic English skills they need to succeed in the classroom. In addition to small-group instruction, I’ve spent the last three years co-teaching 8th-grade Math with Ronda Ward. My education journey was inspired by a life of travel—from living in Japan as a child to serving as an exchange student in Denmark. Those experiences taught me that learning a language is about more than just words; it’s about connection. With over a decade of teaching experience in Idaho and North Dakota, I am dedicated to helping our diverse student body feel at home and empowered in their studies.
¡Hola! Me especializo en ayudar a los estudiantes a desarrollar las habilidades de inglés académico que necesitan para tener éxito en el aula. Además de impartir instrucción en grupos reducidos, he dedicado los últimos tres años a coenseñar Matemáticas de octavo grado junto a Ronda Ward. I started my teaching career right out of college in 2021. I was born and raised in Colorado, and moved to Idaho through the Teach for America Program. I started out in BCSD by teaching summer school, and now love being able to teach English as a Second Language full time here at WRMS. When I am not teaching, I love outdoor adventures, walks with my dog, reading books, and a good cup of coffee.
Comencé mi carrera como docente justo después de graduarme de la universidad en 2021. Nací y crecí en Colorado y me mudé a Idaho a través del programa Teach For America. Comencé a trabajar en BCSD dando clases durante el verano y ahora me encanta poder enseñar Inglés como Segundo Idioma a tiempo completo aquí en WRMS. Cuando no estoy enseñando, me encantan las aventuras al aire libre, salir a caminar con mi perro, leer libros y disfrutar de una buena taza de café.

About Me
I moved to the Wood River Valley, from upstate New York, in August of 2010. I took one year off to focus on being a mother to my then five-year-old daughter. I thoroughly enjoyed that experience and took every opportunity to volunteer in her kindergarten classroom. That is when I realized I loved working with children inside an educational setting. I began working as a guest teacher and found that I gravitated toward Special Education. After not too long, I accepted a position as a Special Education Paraprofessional at WRMS, for eight years. In 2019 I decided it was time to take the plunge and become a certified teacher in Special Education. I was thrilled to accept the teaching position here at WRMS.
When I am not teaching, I spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy camping, hiking, skiing, traveling, and attending my daughter's sporting events. We have a hound dog mix named Buddy Love and a cat named Coconut, who keep us entertained.
I am looking forward to learning and growth opportunities for the students and myself in the new school year.
Me mudé al Valle de Wood River, desde el norte del estado de Nueva York, en agosto de 2010. Me tomé un año libre para dedicarme a ser madre de mi hija, quien entonces tenía cinco años. Disfruté muchísimo de esa experiencia y aproveché cada oportunidad para ser voluntaria en su clase de jardín de infancia. Fue entonces cuando me di cuenta de que me encantaba trabajar con niños dentro de un entorno educativo. Comencé a trabajar como maestra suplente y descubrí que sentía una inclinación natural hacia la Educación Especial. Poco tiempo después, acepté un puesto como paraprofesional de Educación Especial en la WRMS, cargo que desempeñé durante ocho años. En 2019, decidí que había llegado el momento de dar el gran paso y convertirme en maestra certificada en Educación Especial. Me llenó de entusiasmo aceptar el puesto docente aquí en la WRMS.
Cuando no estoy enseñando, paso tiempo con mi familia y mis amigos. Disfruto de acampar, hacer senderismo, esquiar, viajar y asistir a los eventos deportivos de mi hija. Tenemos un perro mestizo de raza sabueso llamado Buddy Love y un gato llamado Coconut, quienes nos mantienen entretenidos.
Espero con gran ilusión las oportunidades de aprendizaje y crecimiento, tanto para los estudiantes como para mí misma, en este nuevo año escolar.

My job as an English teacher was to help your child develop a better vocabulary and skill set for expressing themselves in the form that works best for them. I look forward to applying that same aspiration in my new role as a Resource Room Teacher. Middles are experiencing such a dynamic array of emotions and challenges at this juncture of their lives. Being able to communicate like a grown-up is a confidence builder that sets them up to be avid participants in life. I've been in the valley for 25 years now, raised my own children, twin girls who are 23 and at BSU, and have worked with all ages across the district, mostly in special education. Some of your kids had me at Head Start, some of yours know me from equine-assisted therapy, or the Y. I enjoy all ages, but 6th graders are the most fun because they bring the most challenges. It's a proven fact that middle-schoolers still need their parents, but are here with us most of their days, striving for independence. I'm here to help them navigate their new world. I am honored to be working among such a dedicated team of educators, who love and nurture your kids to their best selves.
Mi labor como profesora de inglés consistía en ayudar a sus hijos a ampliar su vocabulario y a desarrollar las habilidades necesarias para expresarse de la manera que mejor se adaptara a ellos. Espero aplicar ese mismo propósito en mi nuevo puesto como maestra de educación de apoyo (Resource Room). Los alumnos de secundaria atraviesan una etapa marcada por una gran variedad de emociones y desafíos. Poder comunicarse como adultos refuerza su confianza y los prepara para participar activamente en la vida. Llevo 25 años viviendo en el valle —donde crié a mis propias hijas, unas gemelas de 23 años que estudian en BSU— y he trabajado con alumnos de todas las edades en el distrito, principalmente en educación especial. Es posible que algunos de sus hijos me conozcan de la época de Head Start, de la terapia asistida con caballos o de la YMCA. Disfruto trabajando con alumnos de cualquier edad, pero los de sexto grado son los más divertidos, ya que plantean los mayores desafíos. Está demostrado que los estudiantes de secundaria aún necesitan a sus padres, aunque pasan la mayor parte del día con nosotros mientras luchan por alcanzar su independencia. Estoy aquí para ayudarles a desenvolverse en este nuevo mundo. Es un honor para mí trabajar junto a un equipo de educadores tan dedicado, que quiere a sus hijos y los acompaña para que alcancen su máximo potencial.
