I began my teaching career in 1997, teaching 6th-grade English and social studies in Oakland, California. While I loved being close to my hometown of Pacifica, I found myself drawn to the mountains and the promise of a slower pace of life. In 2000, that dream became a reality when I moved to the Wood River Valley and began teaching 7th-grade English at Wood River Middle School. I later transitioned to teaching 8th-grade English, where I continue to share my passion for language, storytelling, and creative expression. I believe the English classroom should be a place where creativity and curiosity thrive. By incorporating music, art, and personal expression into reading and writing, I strive to help students discover both the power of language and their own unique voices. Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my two boys on the river, dancing at concerts, and finding every possible excuse to be outdoors and surrounded by nature.

Comencé mi carrera docente en 1997, impartiendo clases de inglés y estudios sociales de sexto grado en Oakland, California. Aunque me encantaba estar cerca de mi ciudad natal, Pacifica, me sentía atraído por las montañas y la promesa de un ritmo de vida más pausado. En el año 2000, ese sueño se hizo realidad cuando me mudé al Valle de Wood River y comencé a enseñar inglés de séptimo grado en la Wood River Middle School. Más tarde pasé a enseñar inglés de octavo grado, etapa en la que continúo compartiendo mi pasión por el lenguaje, la narración y la expresión creativa. Creo que el aula de inglés debe ser un lugar donde florezcan la creatividad y la curiosidad. Al incorporar la música, el arte y la expresión personal en la lectura y la escritura, me esfuerzo por ayudar a los estudiantes a descubrir tanto el poder del lenguaje como sus propias voces únicas. Fuera del aula, disfruto pasando tiempo con mis dos hijos junto al río, bailando en conciertos y buscando cualquier excusa posible para estar al aire libre y rodeado de naturaleza.
