I was born and raised in the border town of El Paso in a bilingual home.  After studying abroad in both Mexico and Spain, I graduated from Southwestern University with a degree in Women’s Studies and English in 1995. I discovered my passion for teaching as a Peace Corps Volunteer in El Salvador (1998-2001), and since then have taught English, Spanish, English as a Second Language, and Bilingual Education. I spent two semesters teaching Spanish and English for the Traveling School, traveling through Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia with 15 high school aged girls. I received my Master’s Degree in English Education from Boise State University in 2008, and I am a proud Boise State Writing Project fellow. I taught Spanish and English in the Boise School District for seven years before moving to Hailey in July of 2014 with my family. After six wonderful years of teaching Spanish at the Wood River Middle School, I was thrilled to join the library in the notorious year of 2020. It's my dream job to be a bilingual librarian in a dual immersion school with a staff who supports the library and literacy 1000%! When not working, I can usually be found hanging out with my family and our kitty Hopper, aka Thumper aka Mr. Fats aka Sir Chompale, reading, cooking, and in the winter, skiing! 

Nací y crecí en la ciudad fronteriza de El Paso en un hogar bilingüe. Después de estudiar en el extranjero, tanto en México como en España, me gradué de la Universidad Southwestern con un título en Estudios de la Mujer e Inglés en 1995. Descubrí mi pasión por la enseñanza como voluntaria del Cuerpo de Paz en El Salvador (1998-2001) y, desde entonces, he enseñado inglés, español, inglés como segundo idioma y educación bilingüe. Pasé dos semestres enseñando español e inglés para la Escuela Itinerante, viajando por Ecuador, Perú y Bolivia con 15 niñas en edad de escuela secundaria. Recibí mi maestría en Educación en Inglés de la Universidad Estatal de Boise en 2008 y soy una orgullosa becaria del Proyecto de Escritura de Boise State. Enseñé español e inglés en el Distrito Escolar de Boise durante siete años antes de mudarme a Hailey en julio de 2014 con mi familia. Después de seis maravillosos años de enseñar español en la escuela secundaria Wood River, me emocionó unirme a la biblioteca en el famoso año 2020. Mi trabajo soñado es ser bibliotecaria bilingüe en una escuela de doble inmersión con un personal que apoye la biblioteca y la alfabetización al 1000%.Cuando no estoy trabajando, generalmente me pueden encontrar pasando el rato con mi familia, leyendo, cocinando y, en invierno, ¡esquiando!
