Qualifications: BA: University of Montana - Missoula, Elementary Education Hello! I’m Jonah Torseth, I moved to the Wood River Valley the summer of 2002, where Idaho quickly became home. Living here has allowed me to enjoy all that the mountains and rivers of the gem state have to offer. I have two wonderful children, who are true gems of the Gem State. I can’t imagine life without them. Becoming a parent has made me a better educator. It has deepened my understanding of learning, empathy, and the importance of being seen and valued. My teaching philosophy is tied to Coach John Wooden’s pyramid of success. “Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing that you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.” - John Wooden. My goal as an educator—and as a parent—is to be someone who provides the building blocks of success and happiness though instilling the values of industriousness and enthusiasm.
